The Centre for Advanced Software Technology (C.A.S.T.) Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bangor University, established in 2006 in association with the pan-Wales Technium programme. Following the success of the Technium programme at the Technium CAST site in Bangor, CAST's key roles are to:

1. Develop and encourage the use of visualisation technology and applications, with skills in content creation and software development. CAST provides 3D visualisation services including 3D modelling, animation, high quality pre-rendered image creation and interactive 3D models which allow the viewer to manoeuvre around a 3D environment.

2. Support advanced software and technology related strategic initiatives in the University including the new Arts & Innovation Centre Pontio.

3. Continue to support incubating companies within the CAST Bangor facility.

4. Encourage new business starts and help sustain existing businesses through the Interreg Inventorium project, which works to turn innovative digital ideas into sustainable businesses.
